THE "1 & 6" BUTTON TRICK:

1. Turn on your radio.
2. Press and hold buttons 1 and 6 together for a few seconds.
3. The screen will scroll through various information. Look for a code starting with V or M followed by 6 digits (Example: SN: V041234 or M993412). (Note: If 1 & 6 doesn't work, try holding buttons 2 & 6).

THE STICKER METHOD: If the button trick does not work (often on older models or navigation units), you will need to remove the radio using release keys. The serial number is printed on the label on the side of the metal casing.
